World Party started as the vision of Pastor Wes Dupin at
Daybreak Community Church and turned into the largest millennium
celebration in the Midwest.
De
Lux Productions co-produced the event with Daybreak. WP
was a mixture of elements; the pageantry of a half time
show, with the energy of a rock concert and the dancing
and singing of a Broadway review.
Creative
arts director Mark Courtney and director & choreographer
Keri Keaney wrote the show, which featured a time-themed
presentation with 12 period pieces - nostalgic flashbacks
of the past 100 years. With a cast of nearly 700, a massive
80'x 140' stage, a 30' diameter circular video screen, and
custom vintage video footage the show was both heart-warming
and amazing.
At
the end of the evening the nearly 10,000 guests were amazed
by a spectacular pyro display and over 500 pounds of confetti
and balloons coming down to celebrate the new millennium.
